KANSAS CITY, MO – Heart to Heart International is partnering with the Johnson County’s Department of Health and Environment to screen volunteers delivering COVID-19 vaccines.
“The magnitude of this phenomenon is unlike anything we’ve seen,” said Brian Sink, vice president of volunteering and engagement at Heart to Heart International. “It takes more individuals than that for a living or a volunteer.”
For a large clinic that delivers 1,400 doses a day, JCDHE needs at least 20 to 50 volunteers. Vaccines must have a medical certificate or a license for intermuscular injections.
“We’ve been screening volunteers for many, many years so we know what questions to ask and how to validate medical staff’s certifications and licenses,” said Sink.
Volunteers wishing to help with vaccination events should complete an application on the Heart to Heart International website.
